I just found this a minute or two ago..
If you're editing a filename in the Finder, hold down the open-apple
key and then hit the forward and back arrows a few times... Then if
you let go of the open-apple key, and move around in the filename with
the forward and back arrow keys, you'll get phantom vertical lines every
once in a while. They disappear whenever you hit space though, and I
presume when you type anything else.. However, the Finder tells you
the filename is inappropriate for the destination file system even though
the filename IS correct.
Weird huh?
