[comp.sys.apple2] Genesys

shankar@SRC.Honeywell.COM (Subash Shankar) (09/10/90)

Does anybody know any mail order house that sells Genesys?
I couldn't find it listed anywhere in the major Apple mags.

I also seem to recall an article somewhere a couple of months back comparing
Design Master and Genesys. Since I can't seem to find the article anymore, any
references would be appreciated.

As a co-creator and developer of Genesys, thanks for you inquiry! Genesys
is sold directly through us (Simple Software (404) 928-4388 tell them Mike
sent you!) OR from 816 magazine, Roger Coats and APDA. There will be a
review in and comparison of Genesys vs. DesignMaster in an upcoming issue
of Nibble and InCider.

Although I suggest you review both these products and make your own decision,
please bear in mind that Genesys IS a resource editor (can open and edit
resources from a resource fork) whereas DesignMaster only CREATES
resources (it uses its own internal file format for editing which is then
converted to a resource fork).

While we're bearing things in mind, you should note that DesignMaster
is not intended primarily as a resource fork creator; that's just one
of several forms in which it can output the interface description.

Disclaimer: I don't use either, but then I don't much believe in the
"desktop" approach anyway.
