[comp.sys.apple2] uudecode

aa404@cleveland.Freenet.Edu (Chris Roberts) (08/15/90)

I have a small problem. I don't have full FTP access and I am forced to use
BITFTP. Unfortunately BITFTP is sending all my files in UUDECODE mode.

It's not the fault of bitftp, but the fault of my system. It runs through
Bitnet on a mail-only gateway. I dont' know if it will change when the system
upgrades to the ability to send binary files. At any rate, I heard that there
was a UUDECODE for the IIgs. Is this true?

Thanks,
        Chris

PS: if this is true, could somone please send me the file?

Is there some BBS I can DL UUDECODE from for the IBM or Apple?

Thanks.

Does anyone on here have a copy of UUdecode for the Apple IIGS? If so, could
you please Binscii it and send it to my mailbox?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
Recently uudecode was posted here and i got it, but it was for APW or
Orca, neither of which i have. Is there a version of uudecode that runs from
the desktop or basic.system?? Also, where can I find this for a VAX running VMS
(ugh!)?? Any help much appreciated.

I've been working on getting uuencode/uudecode ported to hyperc.
Uuencode seems to work pretty well (ok, it's real slow) but I need
a scanf to make uudecode work (with my limited knowledge of C, that
is). Eric Mcgillicuddy supposedly has written scanf for hyperc,
but I haven't been able to contact him by mail. Any help out there?

Yeah, I've been wondering if there is a SYS program out there for the
Apple II series which does uuencoding and uudecoding, similar to BinSCII.
Alternatively, could someone point me to a place where I can get uuencode
and uudecode which would run on an HPUX system. Apple II application
preferred.

Hi,

I found uudecode for the apple in the binaries a few days
ago, and downloaded the two parts. They downloaded without error, and
ran though BINSCII without error. But give a crc error when run through
shrinkit. I mailed them to my home from rn at work, same problem. I
would like to view the earthquake graphics on ca.earthquakes, but need
to uudecode the gifs. Could someone either repost, or mail me the
files?

					Thanx
