Quite wrong -- the upper 8MB of the address space is in fact used in the Apple IIGS, for the firmware among other things, and a portion of it is accessible via the memory expansion slot. There are memory cards that do support adding ROM in that memory space.

Does anyone know if the Octoram is DMA compatible? I have 2 1Meg SIMMS on it, and I was wondering if it was DMA compatible. PS. I have 4 256K SIMMS for sale... Leave me mail if you're interested. _____________________________________________________________________________ |Internet: yk4@cunixb.cc.columbia.edu |||||||||||Yong Su Kim|||||||||||| |Bitnet : yk4@cunixc |||||The Korean from Hong Kong|||| |UUCP : uunet!rutgers!columbia!cunixc!yk4 |||||||...Apple IIGS user...|||||| |____________________________________________||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
