Good point. And I did mean that Jupiter's internal heat is greater than that it receives from the Sun: I recall reading this in a semi-technical article after the Voyager I flyby. I'm still curious: is it possible that Jupiter could pick up enough mass from the Sun in its red giant stage to become a G, K, or M star? If it is, then the effective lifetime of the Solar System would be doubled. Rick.
