One of our users' group members is also a department head of the computer training at a local vocational school. She received notice that Apple, Inc. would be conducting a seminar/presentation at a local hotel in October and the subject would be new products. I think it's great that Apple is going out into the field to do product announcements. But I am concerned that on the one hand they profess that the users' groups are very important in their scheme of things and on the other they completely ignore 'us' when a major event like new product announcement presentations are given. A 'network' of users' groups and users' groups' ambasadors exists. Their mailing addresses and phone numbers are available to Apple, Inc. Why doesn't Apple use this network and invite the club members, many who are influential in product specification and purchases, to their 'events?' To say that this concerns me is an understatement, considering how much Apple continues to give lip service to this vast potential audience. This is not the first time that an 'event' has been sponsored in our city by Apple Inc, and our users' group never heard of it, or heard of it through word of mouth from someone in education or industry, but too late to attend. Hopefully the readers at 'apple.com' can forward this concern to the 'evangelist-in-charge.' And Apple wonders why we get hostile? ______________________________________________________________________________ Mike Ungerman |Proline:mikeu@pro-magic Pro-Magic BBS: 407-366-0156 |uucp:crash!pnet01!pro-magic!mikeu 300/1200/2400/9600 Baud 24hrs |arpa:crash!pnet01!pro-magic!mikeu@nosc.mil Apple Tree of Central Florida, Inc |Internet:mikeu@pro-magic.cts.com Orlando, Florida|Voice:407-366-0060|Compuserve:71326,31 Prodigy: JSNP58A
