[comp.sys.apple2] Shrinkit with one drive

jc@sandstorm.Berkeley.EDU (Jimmy Chan) (10/02/90)

I've been trying to uncompress a .BXY file on my //e using Shrinkit 3.0.1.
The file uncompresses to a full disk, but I've only got one drive. From what
I can tell, Shrinkit assumes two drives and doesn't allow disk swaps. Am I
wrong? Can someone tell me how I can decompress this file using one disk
drive?

Please e-mail any responses, as I don't regularly read this group. Thanks.

Unshrinking disks with one drive is a bit tricky, but it can be done.
Select the file to open, and select the files in the archive you want
to extract, but DON't PRESS RETURN (yet). First put in your other disk.
Then hit return or oa-g, and you'll get a 'select device' dialog -
pick the proper device, and then you will be prompted for source
and destination disks in the big white bar under the copyright notice.
I think this was added some time ago, but if it doesn't work for you,
try version 3.0.3. I just tried following my directions and they worked
