Anyone know any way of speeding up Randy Frank's Apple //e emulator (ound at isca01.icaen.uiowa.edu)? Drastically? Just for fun, I ported the thing to my M*c running MPW 2.0.2, added support for paddles and lores graphics (so the things still unsupported are double-res and hires graphics, the standard character set, mousetext, and PAGE2). It even reads Prodos disks placed in drive 1! (Kind of the hard way to do it, but... :-) ) It's kind of interesting to watch the cursor blink every 30 seconds... (and no, a M*c IIfx is NOT an option) I already made macros out of the address-fetch operations, except for the indirect ones, and made macros out of the get-and-set-status routines (why was this #ifdef NEVERed?) -- Matthew T.
