Here's a simple question that I need an answer for quickly. Can a Mac 400k drive be hooked up to an Apple IIGS through the IIGS smartport or daisy-chained off of an Apple 3.5" drive? Will I be able to read 400k disks with it? Will it fry the smartport or 3.5" drive if I do hook it up to it? Thanks in advance, Ray Ray Rankins |(518) 387-7174 | INTERNET: rankins@argentina.crd.ge.com 2 Moonglow Rd. |(518) 583-3320 | COMPUSERVE: 71131,3236 Gansevoort, NY 12831 | | AmericaOnline: RayRankins <insert standard disclaimer here> | GEnie: R.Rankins

I hooked one up last year, but the drive was broken. Everything but the motor worked (and ejec t). So, of course, I couldn't tell if it was possible to read or write from on e, only that it didn't hurt my GS. I would -imagine- that it would work, considering the GS's 3.5" drive can read 400k Prodos/GS/OS disks and format them. ____________________________________________________________________ | | | | This is your brain... | BITNET-- mquinn@utcvm | | This is your brain on drugs... | pro-line: | | This is your brain on whole wheat.| mquinn@pro-gsplus.cts.com | |____________________________________|_______________________________|
