The post that talked about Rastan being HD installable was incorrect. I have followed the instructions in the article, and some other methods, and it will not work. I have even contacted Taito, and they said they do not know of any way of installing Rastan on a Hard Drive. If anyone can prove me wrong, please do so, I would like to put the damn thing on my HD. Also, The Immortal GS (ironic name), is a very good game, though so far I have found it to be quite difficult (a problem I have not had with these types of games). Also, someone mention Murph Sewall, well to all of you who subscribe to 8/16 you may notice in his column this month he mentions Apple supposidly has more then one II cpu in development, but no word on what Apple is doing yet. Apple has not officially Killed the II yet, so as users, lets not give it a funeral before it is due. Neil - ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil M. Apple has CANCELLED the 2 page ad they had planned for the November, then pushed forward to December issue of Insider. Now NO ad at all. Insider will no longer be "The Apple II Magazine" beginning with the Jan 91 issue. Instead it will become "The Apple Magazine" covering ALL computers made by Apple, that means Macs folks.. The Apple II divison headed by Ralph Russo and Jane Lee has had their duties re-defined to "evangelize (sp?) Apple II users into Mac users". Yup, these were the folks that said at Kansasfest there would be advertising & promotion for the Apple II line in the fourth quarter, and that they were going to promote software developers to get back into the II development arena.. All of those words have now changed it seems.. The October issue of Insider is already out, and not a single advertisement for Applefest which is less than 2 months away.. In fact, Insider does not even plan to have a booth at Applefest, which as I remember will be the first time they were not present.. The promoters of Applefest say they only expect a turnout of between 4 to 6,000.. This down from projections of 20,000 and over at previous Applefests. But with no advertising, how do they expect anyone from Apple II land to attend?? Explain these things to me, and perhaps I will be better able to understand what positive things Apple is doing to keep the II alive anywhere but in the 020 slot of the new Mac LC. The slapping of the wrists of the Apple II champions (Russo & Lee) from above tells me very negative things.. -- bsherman@mthvax.cs.miami.edu | bsherman@pro-exchange | MCI MAIL:BSHERMAN
