Ok folks, I've got some gasoline for the speculation conference here. I just saw a spec sheet for the new Mac LC. It's a pizza box styled machine that is supposed to be Low Cost. It's running a 16Mhz processor and it has a special slot in it for an )(&* buss board. What was that you ask? Damned if I know, it's ONE special slot, not like all the others. Now, that comes out later this month. How about the board that is coming out in March? It's the Apple //e processor board. It's an entire Apple //e on a board, right down to the video drivers and all. It's got all the specs of a normal //e except for the fact that it's specified as being either 1.x Mhz or 2.x Mhz. Ok, so it's slow. Funny thing though, this card has that exact same )(&* buss connector on it. Hmmmmm, I wonder what that means? Yes folks, it exists. Iv'e seen the spec sheet from Apple on it. Now, I'm not supposed to know this and there's going to be hell to pay for my finding out but I thought that you may wish to hear it. I would hope that those out there keep WHO sent this a bit quiet, although the person who told me isn't from this area (FAX machines are great aren't they?!) he/she may be jepardizing a carear over it. What I worry about is the powers that be taking it out on local dealers/distributors/etc who have it hard enough already. Noone on this net would be stupid or inconsiderate enough to risk a friends job by posting this to, say, a worldwide network. I mean, who's going to know? bob church bchurch.oucsace.cs.ohiou.edu
