Hi, I am looking for a good accounting system that does inventory. The program that sounds like the one I want is Business works by Manzanita Software. I need to find out from people that use it how they like it and is it worth the cost? Is there any better program that you might suggest my looking into before I purchase this. I use Business Works and am very satisfied. It is a very complete and detailed package. It installs on a hard drive easily with the included hd installer. The printed financials are excellent in both content and form. Appleworks data can be imported but not back again. My daughter, an accountant, says Business Works is as complete as anything she has used in the MS-DOS world. I think it's probably the best you can find in the Apple world.

I have a friend who bought it and has a small but strong business, and she loves it. It really allowed her to get a handle on the business so that now she knows who usually pays late and has a great handle, too on her inventory. She figures she is also saving about $3000 a year in accountant costs since she does it all herself. Year-end, quarterly, weekly, etc. tax statements are a snap. Support from Manzanita is wonderful: She had a problem with something little a few months ago and they said "No problem!" and wrote her a small patch for it and sent it to her. If you want to talk to her about specifics, I can give you her number... ----- jeff stern jstern@orion.oac.uci.edu 72647.1527@compuserve.com
