[comp.sys.apple2] New Macs/II Lack

jb10320@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (Desdinova) (10/16/90)

Well, I just got the word from the Apple Product Announcement.
No new Apple II series products were announced (besides possibly System
5.0.3, but nary a word was heard about that in Chicago).

The //e emulator card only works in the LC, which has been priced from
between $1500 all the way to $2500. Add your standard Apple pricing for
a card like this (compare: VOC) and we're talking $500 so a non-expandable
computer can be made to run software from an "obsolete" machine.
Not the best of market strategies, if you ask me.

Of course, none of you *did* ask me. :-)

I'd just like to take this opportunity to start a discussion of one of
the things I'm personally going to do to see to it that the Apple II is
totally used to its potential.

Please see my next post... I'm tired of Apple-flames turning into
tech discussions...

Oh, BTW, full info on the new Mac line (since clari.nb.apple doesn't have it
yet) as soon as I get off work.
