[comp.sys.apple2] GS Soundsmith

lhaider@pro-grouch.cts.com (Laer Haider) (10/22/90)

I've recently downloaded Sound Smith V0.95 from a local BBS and can't get the
dam^ thing to work! I get past the demo screen and into the desktop; but as
soon as the menu bar comes up and before text gets written to it, it hangs.
my setup is as follows:

ROM 01 Apple IIgs with...
4.25 MB RAM
        800K RAM Disk
105 MB SCSI Hard Drive
Apple High Speed SCSI Interface in Slot 7
PCTransporter w/ 768K in Slot 6
        Version 2.0 of PCT software
        5.25" 360K MFM Floppy Drive
        3.5" 720K MFM Floppy Drive
1 Apple 3.5 Drive
1 Apple 5.25 Drive
1 Mitac 5.25" 140K FD

Running on System Software 5.0.2. (any more rumors on a V6.0?)

Any ideas?

Laer,

Have you tried using your System.Disk and System.Tools disks to install
the Apple Midi? I believe this is what you need to do. Because it installs
on to the tools that Soundsmith needs (Tool32 or Tool33 I think). If it
doesn't work after that , then try coping all of the remaining tools from the
system.tools disk to you working system. If that doesn't do it, then I'm
stumped!

Good Luck and Later,

Aren't you the guy with the Printshop problems???
This is weird. Maybe you have a corrupted copy. I'm running SS v.95 off my 105
meg HD, with a ROM 01 w/ 2.25 megs/no RAMdisk.
Maybe there are some problems with PC Transporter that no body's said anything
about???
