Thank you, Henry Throop, for the information you sent me about the II+ VBL wire modification (your message is attached for others to read). I'm posting this to the net in hopes that someone has Lancaster's book and can look up this simple modification. I'd appreciate a quick description of it. If the reply is sent to this group, please Cc my electronic mail address, too. Thank you. --Morgan Davis ------ Forwarded Message #1 ------ Message-Id: <9010280147.AA17675@trout.nosc.mil> Date: Sat, 27 Oct 90 20:42:06 cst From: "Throop,Henry B" <THROOP%GRIN1.BITNET@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU> Morgan, The single wire ][+ vbl mod is described in Don Lancaster's _Enhancing Your Apple II_ volume 1. Unfortunately, I don't happen to have that book here with me at college. (I left very few books at home, and so far this semester I've needed virtually all of them :) You may be able to find that somewhere or find where the vbl signal is on the motherboard if you have SAMS Photofacts or something like that. (This probably won't help much, but I believe the pin was in the same (right-hand) column that the game I/O socket is, about 2-3 chips down, and on the right-hand side of the IC. Sorry I can't be more specific, but you may be able to find it if you have oscilloscope you can use.) Sorry I can't be of much help, but hope that sets you in the right direction. -- Henry Throop THROOP@GRIN1.BITNET throoph@jacobs.cs.orst.edu ------------ UUCP: crash!pro-sol!mdavis AOL, BIX: mdavis ARPA: crash!pro-sol!mdavis@nosc.mil GEnie: m.davis42 INET: mdavis@pro-sol.cts.com ProLine: mdavis@pro-sol
