You can probably build one of your own for close to nothing. In the Maple
Orchard, Volum 9 No. 5 (Oct/Nov.1989) there are instructions to build your
own, for under $30, and it offers a few things Apple's doesn't.

You may be able to get a reprint of the article "BUILD YOUR OWN MIDI ADAPTER
FOR THE IIGS AND MACINTOSH" by quoting the volume and number, and writing to
