[comp.sys.apple2] Creating a bootable RAM disk

kreme@isis.cs.du.edu (Eric Idle's Fish Eric) (11/04/90)

I just got my GS SAUCE card and installed 4 1 Meg SIMMS on it, so I have
4.25 Megs of Memory. I tried to create a Prosel-16 script to copy the
essential system files to /RAM5. My problem is that I can't get Prosel
to format the RAM drive. I did insert a jump to the UTILs, and I can
manually format the drive. However, once all the system files are copied,
the "boot 0" doesn't boot the RAM disk... what I get is the startup screen,
then $$/$$$$: (the $ are some Hex addresses) Sometimes I just get one
of these addresses, sometimes I get a never ending loop of one address
over and over. Whar am I mising?

I read through the Dox, and I didn't see anything about passing certain
paramaters to the UTILs. Is there some way to format a disk from within
a scipt file?

On another note, is there anyway to dump GS/OS out of memory? I was trying
to launch Prosel-8 from Prosel-16, but GS/OS was still in memory, can I get
rif of it once it's installed without rebooting?
