This is the closest newsgroup I can find to comp.binaries.apple2.gs.wanted... There's Rogue GS and Moria GS, but there doesn't seem to be a NetHack GS. All I've found is the source code and a bunch of binaries for various Incredibly Boring Machines. I'd be happy to (attempt to) port NetHack myself, but unfortunately I don't have a C compiler. It would be great if some other nice person would either port NetHack or buy me ORCA/C (your choice 8^). Maybe then us IIGSers will be able to kick sinks with the best of them. -- _________________________________________________ Benji Rudiak-Gould / Disclaimer: All opinions are those of /dev/null. benji@euler.berkeley.edu / "Space Being Goes Berserk And Maims Forty-Nine ________________________/ Crocodiles With Chain Saw." -- spew

To everyone who wants the NetHack source: It's available by anonymous FTP from linc.cis.upenn.edu [130.91.6.8], in the directory /pub/NH3.0 . You'll need the Src* files, the Aux* files, and the Incl* files, and maybe others. (The file Files lists what each file is for.) If you don't have FTP access I could mail the source to you, I guess, although that's not a great solution because it's loooooooooong (about 1.2 megabytes I believe). Porting NetHack to a new machine is mainly just a matter of compiling it, but a few files will need to be rewritten to be compatible with IIGS i/o. Thanks to everyone who's volunteered!

Is that nethack ported over to the GS? If someone could mail it to me I could compile it and post it on comp.binaries.apple2 for those who don't have a GS C compiler. -- zane@ddsw1.MCS.COM
