I know this is short notice, but I just heard that ABC nightline tonight will feature the joint US-Soviet-French SARSAT (search and rescue) satellite system. This is an operational system based in part on feasibility demonstrations on amateur satellites AMSAT-Oscar-6 and -7 in the middle 1970s. Phil
