[net.followup] Netnews is being watched!

mark@cbosgd.UUCP (Mark Horton) (12/28/83)

Good grief. There are probably 20,000 readers of Usenet, therefore
it's being watched by 20,000 people. So what? One of those 20,000
happens to be Don Norman at UCSD. If you read certain newsgroups
you probably know him as a regular contributor anyway.

I reemphasize: anything you post to Usenet may as well be broadcast
on the 6:00 news. You're putting it into the public domain.

Dr. Norman didn't provide a great deal of insight concerning
USENET, and certainly hasn't been studying USENET systematicly.
In fact, he didn't even mention USENET by name. The article
does provide the viewpoint of someone who is a bit overwhelmed
by the quantity of news.

Let's hope the psychs don't look at net.followup, net.politics, net.sport,
net.singles, or net.flame. Otherwise, we're all in trouble for being
meanies.

To all the shrinks listening --
Based on my articles, did I have an unhappy childhood?
Also, should I leave my wife?

Thanks for the free adbvice beforehand.

PS -- I'm single. Does this mean I have multiple personalities??
