Good grief. There are probably 20,000 readers of Usenet, therefore it's being watched by 20,000 people. So what? One of those 20,000 happens to be Don Norman at UCSD. If you read certain newsgroups you probably know him as a regular contributor anyway. I reemphasize: anything you post to Usenet may as well be broadcast on the 6:00 news. Dr. Norman didn't provide a great deal of insight concerning USENET, and certainly hasn't been studying USENET systematicly. In fact, he didn't even mention USENET by name. The article does provide the viewpoint of someone who is a bit overwhelmed by the quantity of news. Kenneth Almquist
