Zip is fully aware of the reliability and support fiasco of the first Zip chip.
They stalled development of the Zip GS in order to get the bugs worked out of
the original Zip. Unlike the original, they did not announce the GS Zip until
it was debugged and the first major order had actually gone out to the board
house. About a month later, Roger Coats had them and I bought one. It has not
noticably increased my crash frequency (I'm damn impressed). There is a known
problem with it and the loaded RAMfast driver (Zip and CVT worked on it and
determined that it was something the Zip was doing, so I _should_ be getting
an upgrade card soon).

all in all, I'd say Zip is doing a reasonable job atoning for the past sins.
