[comp.sys.apple2] The death of A+

IMHO, A+ was a great Apple II magazine, that is, until Incider gobbled it up.
Both A+ and Incider served different audiences. A+ was the advanced Apple II
Users/Buyers group. Reviews and comments often ran a great depth. On the
other hand, Incider was more for the "generalized" audience. Most of the
articles/reviews in Incider were watered down, like the official manuals I get
every time I buy an Apple product. In the end, I just cancelled my
subscription. Are there any other opinions on this magazine?

PS. Wish Incider had more game hints. Would have kept the subscription just
for that reason.

I used to read Incider in 1984-85 and thought it was pretty good,
because it had a good mix of hints, programs, hardware projects,
and reviews. I have vol. 1, issue 2 of A+ and was disappointed
by the fact that it was largely product reviews. Softalk, which
I got from Oct 83 until it folded, was just plain great. I got
Nibble for a while, which had some good hints & techniques,
and was good if you like to type in programs.
