I am going to buy an accelerator for my //e. I would like people to give some information on the actual acceleration of the Zip Chip vs. the Transwarp. (1) Is there ever a time when the Zip Chip 8MHz is SLOWER than a 3.6 MHz Transwarp //e? I remember something to the effect of a small Zip RAM cache before that hampered memory moves... (2) Compatibility-wise, does the Zip Chip generally work with all peripherals and software? How about clocks, e.g. the No Slot Clock? (3) What speeds can you set the Zip Chip (8MHz) for, as opposed to the Transwarp? The upshot is that I can't think of any reason not to get an 8MHz ZipChip as opposed to a 3.6 MHz Transwarp, except for vague anger at Zip's suit against the RocketChip. All replies, e-mailed and posted are appreciated.... Eric Hsu ehsu@husc9.Bitnet, ehsu@husc9.harvard.edu

Does anyone know if the Zip chip or the TW will work in a Franklin Ace 1000? In case you're wondering, the Franklin has a 6502 (not 65c02). ---------------------------------------- Michael J. Quinn University of Tennessee at Chattanooga BITNET-- mquinn@utcvm pro-line-- mquinn@pro-gsplus.cts.com
