Hi from down under, I need some help from those of you more versed in communications than I. I have an Apple IIe with a super serial card and I want to connect my modem up. I need to make a cable to connect the two, but am not sure of the pinout assignments for the computer end of the cable. Can someone fill me in on the assignments for pins 1-8 and 19-20 on the male AMP8618A connector cable of the super serial card please. My Email address is cthomas@f.adelaide.edu.au Thanks in advance Connor Thomas University of Adelaide Adelaide Australia

You shouldn't need to make a cable to hook an SSC up to an external modem. Both use the industry-standard DB-25 connectors; just buy a cable that has these connectors on both ends. They're fairly common and should be available just about anyplace that sells computer stuff (try asking the people who sold you the modem). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Scott Alfter _/_ / v \ Apple II: Internet: alfter@uns-helios.nevada.edu ( ( the power to be your best! Do you mean you are actually making a cable, or just need to know how to set up the SSC for communications mode? INET: avarg@gnh-applesauce.cts.com UUCP: crash!pnet01!gnh-applesauce!avarg ARPA: crash!pnet01!gnh-applesauce!avarg@nosc.mil
