[comp.sys.apple2] New uses for an old Plus?

dl1@ukc.ac.uk (D.Langford) (12/07/90)

Way back when, I was an enthusiast for the II; bought a II+ when they
cost - gulp - around $1500. I kept with Apple, and now have a nice IIsi
system.. and the II+ (an Apple II Europlus, to be pedantic!) is stuck
away in a cupboard.

It seems crazy to throw it away; it's not worth selling; and it is still
a fully functioning - and very nice - computer. I took it out yesterday,
and all the old fun came flooding back...

Any ideas for a use for this beast? 64k, 80-col, various cards... there
must be /something/ I can use it for? I have an early version of, um,
ProDos, but most of my disks are 3.3. Oh, a b/w monitor.

Suggestions gratefully received!

You wanted to know what to do with your Apple II+?
I once thought about writing a burgler alarm system.
a few wires and a little programming, and a few perihipials, and you have a
superb alarm system. Or you could hook up your heating system to the computer.
