[I would send this directly to Ted Medin, but others may be having similar problems.] I've been having some problems with Kermit 3.87, which I ftp'd from columbia in apppro.bns, I think. Control-s doesn't always work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Often I have to press it 3-4 times before it stops; I can't figure out when it work and when not, but it may have something with being pressed about the same time as the screen scrolls. The cursor and the flashing cursor sometime get away from each other. It appears that the flashing cursor moves forward with each keypress (or character sent out); the solid cursor (which isn't seen any other time) moves only when a character is received. If I press some non-printing character like escape, the two get seperated. I think this happened on 3.86 also. It might be nice to give an option like 'set cursor-flash on/off.' If I get line noise or someone picks up the phone, everything locks up. I can't send out anything, nor can I press ctrl-@ C to get back to the command line; all I can do is reboot. I don't recall having problems with 3.86 on this. Other than these, the changed on 3.87 are nice. Thanks, Ted, for maintaining such a great program. -- Henry Throop THROOP@GRIN1.BITNET throoph@jacobs.cs.orst.edu
