I compiled a cheesy little counter program on MY GS with Orca/C and TurboC on my PCT (V30 8MHz). They were about the same, PCT was out slightly ahead. I can not tell if this was due to ineffieciency of the V30 (which is significantly better than the 8086), or the PCT's IO functions. Both were in text mode. I had done a graphics based program under contract for the local board of Ed. on the IIe. It was a little faster than my friend's who did the IBM version. This is not entirely a fair comparision since mine was all done in Assembly and his in TurboC, but is in general close to other results I have heard of. His target platform was an original IBM XT, but with VGA graphics. UUCP: bkj386!pnet91!ericmcg INET: ericmcg@pnet91.cts.com
