Most games that support VGA 256 colors do it in 320x200 mode. I would be interested if you know, for sure, of a game that uses 640x480 w/ 256 colors. VGA graphics doesn't necessarily mean 640x480. Given that a GS can do 320x200 w/ 256 colors it might be possible; I think the GS's problem is still speed even though demos, as you mentioned, have shown otherwise. keith scalawag@blake.u.washington.edu

Most of my bitching has been directed at Mark Orr, since I percieve that he thinks anything short of LAPC-1 sound and VGA graphics will not cut it for Stellar-7. Yes, a "slam-bang" GS version would definitely be nice... :) \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ | Brian T. In-Reply-To: message from tg.exc@pro-harvest.cts.com Steller-7 was made about 7 years ago for the IIE but the IBM VGA will blow the gs out of the water... I must say I have experiance on both computers.. I have a IBM 8088 with 8087-2 and a 256k VGA 256 color and a IIGS with 40 Megs... I must say that Ultima 6 and Wing Commander go past the IIgs.. I usto be a DIE HARD IIGS FAN but now I realize the power of both computers... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ProLine: jon@pro-ice | Jon Spatz (jon) | Do you fall Internet: jon@pro-ice.cts.com | pro-ice.cts.com | asleep on the UUCP: crash!pro-ice!jon | (215)/562-4928 | toilet while ARPA: crash!pro-ice!jon@nosc.mil | 300 to 9600 Baud | eating OREO's? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
