Ok...Here goes. I got the player.shk file and upacked it on my apple //c. I played the locutus file and though..'Wow. Pretty good for a //!' So where do I find files to play on it? I tried the SO. files from him1.cc.umich.edu, but they didn't work. I followed the instructions to the letter. What do I do? THanks! Please E-mail is possible...hacking through the daily flow of 200 messages takes a while.

I've been getting more than a fair amount of messages regarding my Mac
sound player that I posted to comp.binaries.apple2 a while back. Most
of it seems to be of the "where can I find sounds" type. I'm looking
for sounds. Someone posted a whole bunch of Sun audio files to
rec.arts.startrek a while back. After hacking my program for
different timing, I played one of the files and found that the quality
left a lot to be desired. In other categories, most Mac sounds will
be bundled up with StuffIt and BinHex, both of which are unreadable on
the II (on 8-bit IIs, anyway) and which have, so far as I know, no
UNIX-compatible equivalents. Does anybody know of a source of
high-quality, unpacked digitized sounds? If so, leave a message here.
(It's hard to believe I hacked the sound player together and have only
gotten a couple of uses out of it...:-| )
