Jawaid Bazyar says a few things about COMPACT/EXPRESS, among them that they're not worth the $50 unless you're a programmer. I gather they turn a non-expressload file into an expressload file and thus speed up loading considerably. If that is true, they sure do sound like they are worth it for stuff that is no longer being updated. Two questions: could someone please describe more fully what they do, including how hard they are to use, and, what kinds of files will they work on? (I'm interested particularly in WordPerfect, which no longer seems to be actively supported since the beta testers bulletin board was discontinued -- turned into an Amiga board -- maybe six months ago.)
