When I try to boot my HD, the attempt fails and I get the following error message: "Control Manager not initialized, error $ 1002". I am ruu a ROM3 GS with a 40M Innerdrive in slot 7 (the control panel is set to your slot for slot 7) with a Juice Plus expansion card with 1 meg. I am running GSOS 5.0.4 downloaded from Genie. I also have a PCT attached to slot 6 but during all of this it was dosconnected, slot 6 is set to Disk Port. I had tried to install the unpacked files from screenfun.shk. Prior to this I had no problems. I could not get this set of programs (a nda and a screen saver to work) and then my HD problems begin. I removed the files obtained from screenfun.shk and maybe that is where I screwed up; I could have inadvertently removed something else; I don't think so but it is possible. In any case, from then on, I cannot boot the HD; I always get the above mentioned error. The HD itself seems to be okay as I can boot GSOS System Disk 5.0.4. from slot 5, and then access the prgrams on the HD. I do not use the Finder, I use UtilityWorks and its launcher (UtilityLaunch ?); these have never given me a problem in the past. One thing thous, I seem to lost my screen of files from UtilityLauch (a screen of 40 boxes, each of which launces its program). I don't remember deleting any UWGS files but the UtilityLaunch Screen is bare of files. I have reconstructed it with four or five files and they do launch correctly. I thought maybe I could solve my problem by reinstalling GSOS 5.0.4. However, when I try to reintall it using the Installer (from a copy of the Tool Disk in slot 5), I eventually get another error message: "Cannot Install, Need Approximately 518K more space". Now that is strage as I have 2 Meg. I have booted UtilityWorks and checked the memory; it say I have 1570 free memory with 1585 available memory and the largest block is 929K. (I set the Ram disk to 0 and rebooted). Now, why do I get the message I need about 518 K more space when I have 1.585 K available. Any help would be gratefuloy appreciated (gross understatement)!
