In macro-ing the last 300 messages or so, I caught glimpses of people haveing arguments conserning ProTerm and possibily the Transwarp gs? I have been using ProTerm 2.1 and then 2.2 for over a year, and it hardly EVER crashes; we are talking almost next to none. I think that it is the best com program for the Apple II. Yes, it does have small quirks, zmodem, etc..., but still very good. However, I picked up my Zip GSX1600 8MHz board the last month, and found that the two (ProTerm and Zip) dont get along very well at 100% (8MHz) speed when doing certain things. Normal calling works fine, but if I am going to copy buffer something, or transfer a big file, then it is almost guaranteed to crash. Those are the only two places that I have gotten a crash. The solution is very simple - simply pop into the CDA menu, and switch the speed. I don't find it much of a hinderence, though I shouldn't HAVE to do it...oh well. Oh, for the record, in addition to the Zip, I have 2mb, 5.0.4, and Vulcan 40, ROM 01.
