As far as I know the Jason Harper's 1988 ][GIF 1.0 is the only available GIF Viewer available for the Apple //e. (1) Is Jason Harper working on a NEWER ][GIF? (2) Is anyone out there working on a newer and better one? If no one does by the summer, maybe I'll try my hand at it. Until then my thesis is calling... Main improvements desired: a) Faster Speed of Unpacking. b) Option to unpack to larger-than-screen size. That way we could get full resolution and still see the whole picture (by moving the picture around with cursor keys perhaps) for high resolution GIFs (e.g. 640 x 400) c) Converting pictures to GIFs. Hey, I don't know who could use this option, but someone might. d) Maybe some sort of thermometer display to keep you posted on the status of completion. Just wondering if anyone was working on it before I try reinventing the wheel. p.s.
