As of last week TRE (The RGB Exchange) is complete. It uses TGE (The Graphic Exchange) toolsets to load and save 320 x 200 graphics in various formats. It allows displays in 1 palette, 16 palettes, and 200 palettes (3200 mode), and grayscale. Quantizations are to 1, 16, and 200 palettes, and 256 colors using either median cut or a brute force algorithm. There is also a quantization from color to gray scale. There are no transfers, etc, as in TGE. Also, only toolsets of the form XXX.RGB.320.200 are supported. So far this is: PIC, GIF, IFF (including HAM), TTH (3200 - which can read PNT files), Utah RLE, QDV, PCX (PC Paintbrush). Most of these toolsets will be shipping with TGE Library Disk#1. This program will hopefully ship with the second library disk for TGE. This is not a notice of availability, just information regarding current developments FYI - Please do not post this elsewhere. -- This net: johnmac@fawlty.towers.oz Phone: +61 2 427 2999 That net: uunet!fawlty.towers.oz!johnmac Fax: +61 2 427 7072 Snail: Tower Technology, Unit D 31-33 Sirius Rd, Home: +61 2 960 1453 Lane Cove, NSW 2066, Australia.
