Yeah, well inCider has a habit of putting open letters which many // users find interesting in their magazine. Remember when they had that letter from Sculley (sux) about the future of the //e? And also they have had letters from the ceo's of Applied Engineering and .... um ... one other place that i can't remember. But I think someone on here said that they didn't like inCider? Why not?! It's a great magazine for // users, especially those who use modems all the time like us.... So what's wrong with it? I'm not sure about this, but I think several people have said that they don't like InCider. The main reason being that they promote what Apple says what Apple II users want, NOT what Apple II users REALLY want. Now, they're pusing the Mac instead of the Apple II. Many have referred to it as Apples' propaganda publication. >Proline: ez.scott.b@pro-sherwood | Missing Link BBS >Internet: ez.scott.b@pro-sherwood.cts.com | (908)-352-7488 >UUCP: crash!pro-sherwood!ez.scott.b | weekends only >A-O: Ez Scott B / NuclearDog | a kewl bbs ---------------------------------------- Michael J. In an earlier message, Scott wrote >But I think someone on here said that they didn't like inCider? Why not?! A couple of issues ago, Paul Stattus wrote that the main reason why Apple was not going to develop the II any further was that we weren't buying enough of them. OK, fine I'll buy that if we hadn't gone out and bought millions of them only to see Apple turn around and say "You bought the wrong computer. The future is ONLY in the Mac." And if you don't believe, me, when is the last time you've SEEN a IIGS commerical? Boy, what support for their number 1 selling unit {IIGS} through 1986-1989! And that the only way to save the II line was to start buying tons of stuff for them. Well whats going to say now that our money is going to save the line? I don't want to fund another Macintosh or printer that takes four years to get real drivers for my IIGS {IW LQ}. Now Incider has also gone Macintosh. Not that I blame them when THE Apple II magazine only has 96 pages for most of the year, you have to do something to keep your job. But they say "Don't be mad at Apple, be happy. The Mac isn't your rival, its your friend. Lets have them work together better." No, the Mac isn't our rival, but Apple is forcing the issue. So sorry guys, I'll take my money to a magazine that repects my investment and is trying to make my IIGS live up to its potiental and not simply have it just work with a Mac better. | Hal Bouma | Working on a sig! | Macalester College | | Mail to: SHBOUM@MACALSTR.EDU |

" But I think someone on here said that they didn't like inCider? Why not?! It's a great magazine for // users, especially those who use modems all the time like us.... " I don't believe I said I didn't like inCider, but I don't. The only thing I find truly useful in it is the ads from the mail-order outlets. How does it exactly help us 'people who use modems all the time' anyways? That's an interesting statement... I don't see how it really HELPS me. That same letter was published several MONTHS earlier in the IIgs Buyer's Guide.
