Hi Folks, A lot of newer programs for the Apple IIGS are now shipping on two 3.5" disks. I like many other GS owners only have one 3.5" drive but lots of memory. I have found that the following is a good, high speed way of running these programs. Create an 800K ramdisk Copy disk one of the program to the ramdisk set startup to ramdisk put disk two of the program in the disk drive restart the computer. What I would LOVE to have is a program that does all this for me (except of course for the disk insertions :-> ) It could be a Prodos 8 or GS/OS program, as long as it loaded quickly and fit on one disk. (prodos 8 would probably be better). I would like it to: 1) Build an 800k ramdisk, format it, eject the 3.5" boot disk and prompt for a disk to copy to the ramdisk. 2) Copy the inserted disk to the ramdisk then eject it. 3) set startup to the ramdisk and then restart. How hard would this be to do? Would anyone care to try? Thanks in advance. Seymour Joseph P.S. A second option that removed the ramdisk, set the startup back to SCAN and then rebooted would also be mighty handy...
