[comp.sys.apple2] GSXEdit

mcgu5464@csd4.csd.uwm.edu (Ronald J Mcguire) (01/16/91)

I downloaded and got GSXEdit running. Its a great freeware program!
I *REALLY* like the way it handles for being the guy's first try.
I set up an ICON to launch it from any TXT file. Problem is - it
wont pass on the pathname. Someone who can get ahold of this guy
should tell him to add that. To anyone who wanted the text reader
launchable from icon, this one is ideal, once he adds this feature.
He claims he soon will be able to read AWGS files as well, so
Kudos! One program for all viewing! Great!

I already sent a message to him the other day while I as on
America Online asking him for "message center" support. I haven't heard
from him, but that may because I haven't been on AOL in the past two
days. I agree...awesome program..but I want:
- page break insertion
- ability to load in fonts that weren't loaded at boot time
- print preview
- tab support and other page layout features

What do you mean GSXEdit is missing the choose font option??
It's on mine, first thing in the 'font' menu.

I made an error when I said that GSXedit didn't have a choose font option!

I have the same version as everyone else. This error on my part occured
when I was playing around with the program, trying to find things that I
thought should be added. I thought of the choose font option, and pulled
down the fonts menu to see if it was there. Well, it wasn't there, so the
next time I was on this news group I posted that message. Well,
GSXedit has this feature, but it is called select font instead of choose
font. It was just an oversight on my part for looking for one specific
word.

Anyway, Here is an option that I think would be most useful in GSXEdit.

The program has the ability to open several documents at the same time!
This is great, but It would help if there was a Windows menu bar item
that let one choose between the open Windows. And also maybe stack and
tile them Like the ORCA prism program.

Sorry about the mistake!
