Just got around to listening to the two new cuts on the Billy Joel Greatest
Hits Volume I & Volume II LP. Ho Hum. The lyrics are ok, but the
musicianship is not there. The cuts are called "You're only human (second
wind)" and "The night is still young".
The marketing people put this one together for sure. All the familiar
songs (read top 40 hits) are there. As usual, that means very few
of my favorites. It is a good thing I get these things to review
and then give them back to the radio station after I have listened to
them.
Anyway, if you are interested in having a two-record set of recognizable
music for parties and so on, this is a good album to get. Otherwise,
blow it off.
