I am another one of the people who enjoys the for sale postings and I have gotten some really great deals from some posts I read in this newsgroup. I would like to think that they are a valid use of the newsgroup since they make equipment available that is getting harder and harder to find each day at usually rock-bottom prices. I think that it would be in the best interest of a newsgroup to allow such posts since it keeps our favorite machines in use rather than in a closet. However, I also understand that when these newgroups are started guidelines are created and that these posts are contrary to the specified purpose of this newsgroup (ie technical discussion). I have never nor will I ever post a for sale notice to this or any group where such postings are not allowed or specifically provided for. I also understand that there are on the internet certain newsgroups that are dedicated to the dispersal of for sale postings. If these groups exist on Bitnet I have been unable to locate them. So unless they are posted to newsgroups such as this one I and all of the others who are restricted to Bitnet access are just plain out of luck. So why not start a group that is restricted and dedicated to the posting of for sale notices of Apple products? Are there any restrictions that prohibit this? I would be willing to donate my time and resources to this task and I am almost certain that the administration here will have no problems with it. I have Administrative account here and I only use a tenth of the resources that I am given so I could run the entire thing out of my personal account and digestify it to make things simple. Well, what do ya think? If I can swing approval I am offering my services so send me email and answer my various questions if you think its a worthwhile endeavor. Have Fun, B.
