A friend has built his own little greyscale scanner. It works great but the data is saved in raw binary form. In other words in no known picture file format. The data ofcourse takes up tons of diskspace and can only be viewed or printed with our own little hacks to read this weird format. We would like to be able to save the data off in some known format but we dont have the specs for any of them. If any of you could send me the specs for the GIF, TIFF, and any or all or the various Apple formats or tell me were I could find them I would greatly appreciate it. We need the specifics. The last explanation of the GIF format that I saw was not nearly specific enough. Example, it told you to compress the data but didnt tell you how to compress it. We are getting good (424+ dpi) resolution out of this little scanner its just a shame we really cant do much with it. Thanks in Advance, B. Scott Mills Apple // Forever Student Consultant, Stephen F.
