Well, since Alan's mail got broadcast anyway.. (And I can't mail to whoever at dockmaster for some reason...) I have a TeX .dvi file printer that I've hacked up. Its still got a couple of bugs in it, but it works for the most part. I don't want to touch it anymore because anything I do seems to make it crash, so its in a precarious ballance now with APW C's weird library with flakey bugs that can't be tracked down.. It is a little slow, (slow firmware, which Apple says works just fine :-( but does work. It works best in large memory spaces (like at least 2M is a good thing) since it holds the whole printer bitmap in memory. (No complicated band rendering). I don't really want to release it to the public world, since it is so precarious, but you can have it if you want it. You'd also need a set of fonts to go with it, and I've made some, and they run about 3M or so compressed. A 144 dpi printer such as the Imagewriter isn't the best device for printing TeX output, but it does work.. For real stuff you would want at least 300 dpi.. I've even seen some books that were done with TeX and on an Apple LaserWriter that look real good. (They magnified the output of TeX and photographically reduced the pages to book size.)
