This is a followup to what I found out from the letters I received from all of you out there on the net concerning conflicts with orca/pascal and System 5.0.4... The problem that I had was that my Orca/Libraries directory was not in alphabetical order. Therefore it missed the file PasLib... <Helps to have that linked in> Other problem I have heard from people indicate the same type of problems. It does not matter, from my dist. disks, what order you install orca/m and orca/pascal one of them gets botched in the Lib directory My suggestion is to use Prosel or something similar to re-arrange the directory entrys every time you change anything with orca. Hope this helps. I will post the response I get from Mike Westerfield concerning this when I finally find the time to log onto Genie again. -- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Gunn Internet --> hangtime@bsu-cs.bsu.edu The Indiana Academy 00csgunn@bsu-ucs.bsu.edu Ball State University UUCP --> {BackBones}!iuvax!bsu-cs!hangtime Muncie, IN 47306-0655 {BackBones}!iuvax!bsu-cs!bsu-ucs!00csgunn

This is basically what you will hear from Mike. The Orca linkers scan the library directory for libraries in whatever directory order is on the disk, i.e. go into prodos 8 and cat the directory and that's the order Orca will scan them in. In general, language specific libraries havee to come first, with SysLib last. If you have more than one language installed, it may be necessary to order them too; I can't find my Orca/C 1.1 sheet which explains this stuff in detail. Todd Whitesel toddpw @ tybalt.caltech.edu
