[comp.sys.apple2] Mo Mem'ry, Mo Mem'ry, Mo Mem'ry!

cmcurtin@bluemoon.uucp (Matthew Curtin) (01/30/91)

Lately, I have been doing a lot of RAM-intesive work on my IIgs and 1.25Mb
just doesn't work for me anymore. I need more RAM. When working with
digitized sound and graphics, memory is just eaten up. Currently, I have
the Apple IIgs memory expansion card. I was wondering if there is anyone
out there who has used AE's GS-RAM Plus. With all of the junk I do, I
need as much memory as possible, so I'm thinking about getting GS-RAM Plus
loaded to 6Mb (That way, I could make a RAMdisk if I don't need THAT
much...)

What have your experiences with GS-RAM been, and what are the current
street prices for 6Mb GS-RAM?

Thanks in advance.

I've had a GS-RAM+ card for about a year and it's worked fine. I've got
it hooked up to a RamKeeper and an Apple 1Mb card, so I've 3Mb now and can
have up to 7Mb (9Mb with the 2Mb expander). Current price is around $260
mail order for 2Mb, 1Mb chip sets are now only $60.

My suggestion is the GS Sauce. I think SIMMs will be the
standard, so that would be good. I don't know about reliability or
anything. . .(I have a GS Juice+)
