Since at least two of you have commented about noise coming from your GS and/or monitor, I thought I'd throw in my $.02 worth and let you know that the black/white monitor on my classroom IIc also squeals. It doesn't happen until the unit has been on for awhile and stops when it gets ready. I've not found any reason for the noise - even consulted our computer lab teacher who also hasn't a clue. Sure is distracting - it's audible all the way across the room. I'll be watching the list to see if anyone comes up with any causes or magical cures. Dixie Gustine jsdlg@alaska jsdlg@acad1.alaska.edu

I can tell when I'm coming up on a computer lab because I can hear the sqealing through the door... Sorta fades into the background after a while. I guess the issue is one of the pitch changing to a more audible frequency, since I can assure you that it never really vanishes... >Dixie Gustine -- fadden@cory.berkeley.edu (Andy McFadden) ..!ucbvax!cory!fadden fadden@hermes.berkeley.edu (when cory throws up)
