Hello, again. I need to know if anyone has any type of word processing program that 1) can run on an Apple ][+ with a 40 column card and either 48k or 64k, I'm not sure which, and connected to a Panasonic KX-P1090 printer with a serial-parallel cable; 2) optional but helpful, can upload and save TEXT (ASCII) files. If anyone has a word processing program like this, could you please BINSCII it for me, and send it to: sehrlich@lynx.northeastern.edu I now have a copy of BINSCII which I obtained from someone, so I can BINSCII it back into its proper format once I download it from my Northeastern account. Thanks much for any help people can offer. Scott

FreeWriter and FredWriter, by Paul Lutus of AppleWriter fame I believe, are public-domain word-processors. Very similar to AppleWriter II, they work on a 64K, ProDOS compatible machine, with 40 or 80 columns. If your Parallel card follows the rules, it will work. Files are loaded and saved as ProDOS T)ext files. UUCP: lsuc!graham!pnet91!sb INET: sb@pnet91.cts.com

In-Reply-To: message from sehrlich@lynx.northeastern.edu I'll try to get Fred up for you, it does everything you ask but if you look around there should still be some word processors that have more to offer.
