[comp.sys.apple2] Help with KERMIT 3.87

First of all Collin, PLEASE include your email address with
your postings, so people can respond to you directly if they wish.
 
Second, what version of ProDOS and BASIC.SYSTEM are you using?
The Kermit 3.87 distribution works with most versions, but if
your's is really old, that might be the cause of your problems.
 
Third, you should have a bootable ProDOS disk with BASIC.SYSTEM
and then put the Kermit 3.87 files on this disk.  DON'T FORGET TO
INCLUDE BASIC.SYSTEM.  Everything WILL fit on one 5.25" disk.
 
Perhaps you do need to redownlaod. READ.ME is a completely stand
alone program that should run on any Apple II or compatible.  If
it don't work, something is very fishy.  Where did you downlaod
from?  Columbia (watson.cc.columbia.edu if I recall correctly)
is the standard distribution archive for all Kermit programs.
 
Let me know how you make out.  If all else fails, I'll send you
a disk.
