I think a while ago someone asked here or on comp.sys.ibm.pc about hooking up an old serial Imagewriter (connected to a vintage //e via super-serial card) to a shiny-new IBM PC with serial port. Now, the serial cable for the imagewriter is male on both ends, and the PC serial port is male, also. Someone mentioned that a null-modem adpater would be necessary, but I guessed that all I needed was a female-female connecter. Went down to Radio Shack, and they convinced me not to buy anything. I _really_ would like to hook the Imagewriter up to the IBM, but I won't buy anything until I know EXACTLY what I need. Anyone have any ideas? -- Rafael Juarez, Society for Creative Anachronism Haven's End, Barony of Dragonship Haven, East Kingdom DKONERDING@EAGLE.WESLEYAN.EDU "I have a cause: obscenity. Subject:Pipe Dream IIe/c Problems Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana Date: Sat, 6 Oct 90 18:22:01 GMT Lines: 18 I'm having a lot of problems with the IIe/c versions of Pipe Dream I have an Apple IIc with a fully populated Apple Ram Card (1 meg). I also have external 5.25 and 3.5 inch drives. When I boot the game from my internal 5.25 drive, the program gets to the "Lucas Films" title, accesses the drive for a while, and freezes. I've tried copying the files to a 3.5 disk and running it from there. I've also tried using a newer Prodos version. Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? Or, does anyone have any ideas as to where the problem lies? I should mention that I got the disk to work fine on a friend's GS. -Scott

Hmm, when I grab the ls-lrR file from ftp.apple.com, I thought I had hit gold. But, unfortunately, I was denied permission into accessing the dts directory. Question: 1) Is there a way to get access into this directory? 2) If so, how does one obtain it? Thanks. Later, Doug
