Hmmm, let me restate the problem.. My internal drive is shot, but I can still get it to load simple, small in size programs. Anything over 8 or 10 lines in lenght, it has problems loading.... But, if I can get a hello program to boot up on the internal, I can then switch to the external drive and load basic programs of any size..... I can't really afford to fix the internal drive (it is shot, most people say that it is about a $200 job), is there anyway to load nonbasic programs like Appleworks on the external? thanks Earl

In-Reply-To: message from PARGWE%morekypr@CUNYVM.CUNY.EDU Anybody who tells you that it will take $200 to fix an internal drive (Either Apple or Laser) is nuts. Especially if it can read something. If it was totally dead (i.e. can't read at all) it could probably be fix for $35 or so. I know, I used to fix them. There are Coffee pot with more brains than a Apple disk drive.
