[comp.sys.apple2] memory for various old appleII models

Where can affordable memory for various models of Apple IIs be acquired ?

My daughter's school is trying to improve a collection of old appleIIs
that have been acquired by donations (cast-offs) and purchase. Some
of them have a few as 16K memory. The models involved include Apple
Plus, AppleIIC Plus, AppleIIE, AppleII Plus, Apple IIE. They have had
trouble finding sources of memory for these machines. One source was
found for something like 64K for $250.

In scanning relevant articles in this group, I noticed a number of
about a card that takes SIMMS to provide DMA memory. What is this?
Can mac SIMMs or other types be used here? Will this work for all the
Apple models involved?

I just looked at this newsgroup now for this info, and don't know
about AppleIIs myself (I do Mac's), so please pardon dumb questions
and if this has been discussed recently. Mail or post as appropriate.

All information appreciated,
