Has SciiBin been ported over to VMS? The version I got from someone off of the net won't compile on our HP9000s, and the executable file doesn't work either. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it... -- /* Robert MacAusland -> macausla@newton.ccs.tuns.ca */

I attempted to port Sciibin to VMS earlier this month, but the VMS
libraries do not include the option-parsing routine that sciibin
requires. If I find a work-around, I will post it on comp.sources.apple2

If I find a work-around, I will post it on comp.sources.apple2 The last time I posted sciibin to the net, the posting included a file comtaining the option-parsing routine (getopt) for those machines that don't have getopt in their standard libraries. So it should be very easy to port it to VMS because is very straight forward. The only thing that might need a work-around is the seeking. If you don't have code to simulate seek in VMS, I have it around somewhere (in another pachage a posted to the net: dvi2tty). -Marcel -- ######################################### # Marcel J.E. Is there an FTP site I can get the getopt package from?

Ok, I was told a program called sciibin would dearc BinSCII files on the unix machine, but EVERY sciibin program I've received from an ftp will not run. I get a 'syntax error at line 1: '(' expected. You must take out any comments before the actual "--cut here--" statement. Or, by rule of thumb, it'll be a makefile. So cut everything before "#! /bin/sh" or something similar. /* Marek Pawlowski, marekp@{generic|pnet91|bkj386|torag|aunix}.uucp [CONT] */ /* {albert|wookumz|apple-gunkies|pogo|churchy|geech|spiff|mole}.ai.mit.edu */ /* President, Intelligent Twist Software, 250 Harding Blvd, PO BOX 32017 */ /* Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4C 9M7, CANADA.
